This series is really outstanding. Rarely do you find a series, with brilliant writing, characters you love and the amount of reach it had to take to accurately describe the issues the character has to go through.Arden. Beautiful Arden suffering in silence. There were times where I wanted to hurt his family. Just punch them in the throat, especially his parents. Made me scream! My heart broke for him. Then there is Iggy. Sweet, patient and I mean really patient Iggy. They became friends and then more but this has to be NJ's sweetest and most lovable character. He is a rock. He is supportive. He's damn near perfect. This was another story that had me hooked from the first word to the last. Even though it's a standalone, you get a glimpse of the other characters in the series, which I loved. Also, Brava to Nicky James for handling the mental issues with her usual sensitivity. The concept of having an actual fear of eating is terrifying, and the root cause of Arden's fear is heartbreaking. The journey to an HEA is defiantly different in this book (and yes, I mean defiant)... Arden defies convention and hides his fear in snark, sass and constant self-monitoring. I loved how Iggy saw through all this, how he defies Phoenix's warnings and chooses to fight when many would simply walk away.
