I am a huge fan of Alessandra Hazard and to say she did not disappoint with Unnatural. What I love most about the book is it does incorporate some of the intensity of "ownership" found in her Just a Bit Unhealthy, but it isn't as intense or as unhealthy relationship and because of this makes the book that much better. When reading about an ABO world, but with both women and men, it definitely was written well. In Unnatural, you have 2 alphas who are forced to marry from different countries to put a stop to the war that has been going on for years. Haydn is a prince and Royce is a senator. Through Hazard's writing, you are able to imagine a world where there are 4 moons that dictate the alphas, omegas, and somewhat betas in their heats/ruts. The interactions between all of the members goes nicely with the flow of the story. Overall, I highly recommend this book. It definitely lives up to expectations and a great start to a new series.And a side note, I am so thankful that Alessandra Hazard survived COVID-19 and will continue to bring us wonderful stories in each of her series. Let me just say that I have been a serious fan from her first Straight Guys books. What captured me was her completely unique take and style for that genre. They got better and better, with my hands down fave Just a Bit Ruthless. Can't wait for the next in that series. Then came the Calluvia’s Royalty series. And again, such great reads.But for me, this by far is her best to date. This story is complex, while not once being hard to follow, and with so much depth. Fantasy that is totally believable. This was well planned and executed from start to finish, taking us to an alternate universe where all the complexities make sense.The MCs are both really good guys. Very easy to fall for them both while they struggle along the way. And the journey to their HEA is definately full of struggles for each of them, but never top heavy on unnecassary angst. I was rooting for each of them separately and together. The supporting cast was great. And the final chapters where everything comes together was brilliant. Just great story telling. And I am so looking forward to the next chapter.Lastly, I just want to add how grateful I am that Ms. Hazard pulled through Covid. What an amazing person to work through that. Thank you for once again bringing us a wonderful, fun, entertaining, smoking hot break from our everyday lives!
